News from Arvada Covenant's sister church in Los Globos, Honduras

March 2008

Greetings,
I just received some pictures and information on the pastor and church at Los Globos. Sorry it has taken so long to get this for you. I hope this helps in your planning and prayer. I have asked for estimates on the work that needs to be done. I know that the people in Los Globos are very happy with the pastor and his family and I truly believe that we are moving in the right direction. I appreciate your churches patience and faithfulness through all the ups and downs that have been this congregation's life. I see God's hand moving in a new way and am excited by that.

Iglesia, Brazos Abiertos - Los Globos, Meambar, Comayagua Pastor: Pastor Guevara Amaya (52)

Ever Naún (22)
Evin Jonatan (15)
Milton Marel (14)
Kerin Amalia (13)
Heidy Mariela (12)

Onan Pastor (8)

The Pastors met in Las Delicias when he was 17 and she was 14. They started living together. She came to the Lord when she was 25 and he did not accept Christ until he was 32. A year later God called him to go to Caliche and be a Pastor. He pastored with help through the Pastoral Association that Heart to Honduras had in that time. He did that for 7 years and then another 7 years under the covering of 14 years in Caliche and founded 2 churches there. His son in law (Melida‚s husband) was killed in 2007 in Caliche and people started to steal from his businesses so he had to leave.
He moved to Los Globos to restore the church. So he now lives in his house with all of his 8 children and 5 grand-children (Melida's children).
When he arrived in Los Globos on January 6th of 2008, they only had one lady as a member. The church now has 20 adults as active members and 30 kids for a total of 50 members which was accomplished only by God's strength. They have church on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 7 pm

The vision in the church is to keep growing and to get the people involved in agricultural activities that benefit the community and the church as well.
In any ministry, especially in the mission field, there are needs. The needs they have in the church are to fix the roof, repair the floor and buy more chairs since they only have 30 and sometimes people have to stand. And in the pastoral house they need to repair the walls, the roof and the family does not have beds.

As prayer requests they would like to pray for the restoration of the church, prayer for his family and for everything left behind in Caliche such as properties.

Pastor Guevara and his wife are very passionate people that want to the church to grow in quantity and in quality for the benefit of His Kingdom. Please keep them in your prayers as they restore the church in Los Globos.
